About
I have been tutoring students for 6 years. Be it English, Psychology, Science, Math Acting, Singing, Writing, you name it, I can help. I work with you to not only learn what is required but also to create a work ethic where you understand how to learn and study most effectively for you. I create long-lasting relationships with my students and help them throughout their studies.
I love helping students not only feel less stressed about school but also enjoy the process of truly understanding what it is they are learning. To see a student start to believe in themselves and being there for those moments of recognition, that click moment, is an incredible feeling to be a part of.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I like to get to know the student, make them feel comfortable, intelligent, and see how it is that they best learn. After that, I cater my tutoring to be individually based on how my student learns. Not only do I want my students to grow, but I also want them to feel excited to ask questions when they don't know something.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a recent graduate from Northwestern having studied English, Psychology, and Theatre. Going to a liberal arts university, I consistently take classes in all facets of education including STEM and the Arts. I have been a tutor on and off for 6 years starting in high school for many topics as well as participating in Northwestern's English department, helping those students who wanted tutoring.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing system is anywhere between $25-$40 per hour depending on what subject it is as well as how advanced the student is at that subject
How did you get started teaching?
My friends started a tutoring center for middle schoolers and high schoolers. They hired students they knew were smart and would actually care about helping kids learn. I did that for almost two years and then once I got to college I missed that feeling so offered my services to the English department to help those students not confident in their English and writing. After that I moved to Los Angeles and became a full-time tutor for 1.5 years before moving back to the Chicagoland area.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from the age of 5 up to the age of 20. I have worked with kids by participating in after-school programs, performance-based programs, and tutoring as well. I have worked with middle school students as well as high school students in terms of tutoring, be it any subject they need help with. Finally, I have worked with college students looking to get better at English as well as succinctly write papers.
These students range from those solely wanting to pass a test to those genuinely interested in their subject of choice. I don't mind tutoring anybody and everybody as long as they are committed to learning together.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been working at an after-school program for 5-year-old children in the city of Chicago. I love how different all those kids are from one another, having different interests and always being curious about the world and how it works.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Advice to students would be to have a general knowledge of what you'd like help with. Coming into tutoring hoping the tutor can help with everything makes life more difficult as we don't know where to start.
For English specifically, do you want help with grammar, writing, everyday conversation? Knowing what we can help you with makes the sessions much more efficient and allows us to make a specific outline for us to tutor you the best way possible.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do you want to tutor? What are you having trouble with specifically in this subject? What would you like us to help you with? Is the way you're being taught in school helpful or hurtful to you?
