I also help with SAT and ACT preparation.
I currently work in sales, so I know the importance of being able to sell yourself to others through writing and in-person, which is a skill I used to get into the school of my dream, The University of Chicago!
I also can help with interview preparation and letters of continued interest!

I love getting to know each student and figure out their strengths. I believe every student is qualified to get into their dream school and my job is to just use their existing strengths and show them in the best light possible.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I'll get to know the student and figure out the goals that they have (what school/program they are looking at, Ivy League, certain SAT score, etc.)
Then depending on the goals, we will go through the Common Application, Coalition Application, etc. and work on each section to best sell the student's existing strengths. Working in sales myself, I understand the importance of being able to convey the best side of yourself through writing.
We can go through how to effectivley format and order the activities section, who to ask for recommendations, how to best answer an essay question for a particular university or program, and anything else.
We'll work on any essay or part of the application that the client would like to improve on to maximize the student's chances of acceptance or reaching a certain goal or test score.

How did you get started teaching?
During my senior year of high school, I started learning about teaching and tutoring. I was actually the Teacher's Assistant for an ESL 1 Class which I loved due to its small size.
Meanwhile, I spent my free time reading SAT, ACT, and College Admissions books. After doing my research and finding my dream school, I was rewarded by getting in Early Action! After this, many of my friends asked for help with their applications. I then created some slideshows and materials which helped them out and I quickly found my love for helping others!
Now I focus on a one-on-one coaching approach where I focus on an individual student's strengths and goals. Each student is unique and can achieve so much!

Do I need someone who can focus on my individual needs and adapt their approach to my specific situation?
