SetUp For Success Tutoring
About
In my 11 years of experience as a education professional, I have had a passion for supporting students to reach their fullest potential and reach their short and long-term goals. I have experience teaching and tutoring from 2nd grade through adults, with the majority being in middle and high school; I specialize in English/Language arts reading, writing, grammar, literature, test prep, and executive functioning skills. I've taught in both English/Language Arts classrooms as well as support classrooms focused on reading, social-emotional, executive functioning skills. I have an undergraduate degree in English, Writing, and Communications education and a masters degree as a Reading Specialist.
I enjoy the process of helping students grow and incorporate sucessful habits and practices as a part of their daily routine. I want to be able to help students with what they are doing currently, but I really love seeing students being successful long-term.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before I feel that I can make progress with a student, I want to get to know them by collecting information from the student and/or parent (depending on the age of the student). Gaining this perspective and using a little time to observe the student working helps me to understand habits, strengths, and areas for growth. Using this information and feedback from students/parents/school, I can choose strategies to best help a student improve and become more efficient in their work.
