Alise's Tutoring
About
I can give students the tools to stay organized and learn how to figure out the problem themselves. I have worked in the area with a variety of ages for over 15 years. I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in History with a minor in Sociology and German. I received continued recognition at the learning center I worked at and raised the ranks to number 2 in the center.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I need a brief overview of the student, including age, grade, subject(s) in need, how the student prefers to learn, anything else I should know to help the student succeed. Then after communication, we can schedule a meeting before the first session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took child development, psychology, and socilogy courses in high school. I received my Bachelor's in History, with minors in sociology and German. I worked at a couple learning centers for over 13 years. I also privately tutored multiple children over the years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is based on student age and frequency. $15-$25/hour
How did you get started teaching?
I got started by babysitting and taking courses in high school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children as young as 3 and as old as college. The subjects I worked with include, math, reading, writing, history, German, and more. I also have worked with students with special needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have always loved when students have come up to ask me a question but then figure it out before I can help.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always look for someone who can meet you where you are at in your learning journey but can challenge you as well.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have their own questions prepared. Make sure you have a good relationship and start off on the right foot. Students should also ask if the teachers are able to meet their goals.
