Hello!
I have been teaching high school science for 20 years, it is my passion. My students compliment me on my ability to explain content clearly and to make difficult topics relatable and fun!
My tutoring style involves scaffolding, in which students take on increasing responsibility of their own learning as we progress through a unit of study. I have found this method very successful in helping students achieve their academic goals!
I love science and love teaching! I love teaching young adults the importance of science. Scientific literacy is essential for life-long learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically begin by listening to the student describe his/her current unit of study. From there I ask some basic questions to assess their current level of understanding. At that moment I determine what background information may need to be reviewed for the student to build a foundation for success.
