About
Having previously worked in partnership with Seattle Public Schools, I am passionate about providing engaging education support to youth of various ages. I've worked in non-profit arts education in Seattle for two years, and I have since provided remote additional academic and professional support to students.
I am currently a Master's student in English Langauge & Literature at the University of Chicago. My credential includes competitive AP Exam scores, including a 4 on the AP Calculus exam and a 5 on the AP Spanish exam.
Schooling can be challenging, leading to a student losing confidence in their own abilities. I enjoy doing the work to make sure this doesn't happen, and I enjoy helping students recognize their individual strengths.
Every student's goals are achievable. I tutor with the hope that students leave my care believing so.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I like to start with where the student is currently at to build confidence and a study/learning plan.
Much of this entails taking notes as I listen to the student describe things they consider their strengths, and things they believe they need to work on. For strengths, we will engage in the ongoing review. For areas the student wishes to work on, I will demonstrate working through the task with thorough, step-by-step instruction. We will then move on to practice. All of this, and the rate at which we want to make progress, will be contingent upon the students' goals (ie--upcoming test, material mastery, etc.)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from two years of working in nonprofit arts education with Seattle Public Schools, I have tutored both family and friends throughout the past seven years.
One connection, in particular, is a student aiming to attend the University of Washington, and I tutored this student for six years, starting from the moment she was in the seventh grade until her junior year of high school. Currently, I work with this student for AP and SAT test prep.
