About

My name is Cassandra Boulanger and I recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago's Museum and Exhibition Studies program. I recieved my bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida in History, as well as a minor in Political Science Pre-Law and a certificate in Substitute Teaching. For the past few years, I have worked in numerous Congressional offices and museums in the Chicago area.

My education, as well as my experience, allows me to support and guide students through their explorations of history. During my time at UCF, my historical studies centered around American, European, and political histories. As a graduate student, I tutor students across the country in these areas, and assist students in developing a critical lens to interpret historical events.

History is the study of everything, for it touches every aspect of our world. I value educating students on these subjects, and raising their awareness of the importance of analyzing and interpreting historical events.

Only through an understanding of our past, can we build a better future. Participating in work which expands students' understanding and relationship with history is the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring.

    Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student, I first aim to create an open line of communication, and gain an understanding of what areas they may be struggling with in respect to their education. From here, we identify relevant tasks and exercises we can complete together to elevate the students' confidence and knowledge of the subjectmatter. These tasks and exercises range depending on the student's area of focus, targets for tutoring, and availability.

During my undergraduate degree, I majored History, minored in political science on a pre-law track, and received a Substitute Teaching Certificate. While completing my graduate degree in Museum and Exhibition Studies, I interned for multiple Congressional offices and political action committees, strengthening my understanding of the processes of local and federal governments.

Furthermore, I executed educational public programs and constructed a free online history course. This combination of academic and work experience supplies me with an ample background to assist students with their studies.
