About
Hello! My name is Jeremy Reutebuch and I am a junior music student attending DePaul University and the Juilliard School studying music composition and performance. I am very excited to be able to teach online lessons to students interested in music theory and composition. I have studied music composition at multiple prestigious festivals in the US, Europe, and South America. I have also had commisions from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the DePaul Symphony Orchestra, the SheLives Master Class Orchestra, amung many other large and small ensembles. From these experiences, I have come to understand the value of a quality music education. I have been teaching music theory of various levels for three years, and am looking forward to helpping those interested in learning more about this incredible craft.
Music is a language. It is an art form that transcends. In any form - it has the ability to cut through everything and reach directly to the heart of a person. In order to create music, there is a certain level of patience and technique, just like any language. Becoming a musician is such a never ending journey, but one that is close to the soul.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The learning process is obviously very different for everyone. My process is taylored to the individual's needs. We can start with getting to know eachother and sharing musical tastes and interests. From there, it's all about the student's musical needs and interests. Whether that be music theory help and/or composition, I will taylor the tutoring around what's of interest.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored music theory for three years, teaching induviduals of various levels of experience (beginner to advanced levels of knowledge). I have four composition students ranging from the ages of 14 years old to much older than myself! I study music theory and composition at both DePaul University and the Juilliard School.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For an hour of tutoring, I usually charge $30-40. This amount can be adjusted if needed.
How did you get started teaching?
Both of my parents are teachers, so I have loved the concept of sharing knowledge my entire life. I stated teaching percussion lessons in eighth grade, and taught percussion until I graduated high school. From there, I began teaching theory and composition seriously.
