About

My services focus on offering individualized academic coaching for students in grades 6 - 12 specifically in the areas of: english and literature, language arts, reading, writing, and executive functioning skills. I also offer services to help to brainstorm, draft, and perfect college admissions essays. I have seven years of teaching experience at the high school and middle school level and I have been a private tutor for seven years.

My style of tutoring centers around a partnered approach between the student, parent, teachers, and school professionals to create opportunities for success and growth. Each private session is tailored to meet your child's needs on a case by case basis. This means that I combine my background in teaching and in tutoring to bridge the gap between classroom and home. Your child will be using custom made materials that specifically fit their needs.

I have a degree in English, secondary education, as well as a Master's degree in Special Education. In addition, I am a certified Seeing My Time instructor, a program that helps ages 12 to adult with time management and more.

I look forward to meeting you! Please don't hesitate to contact me for a free consultation at the Arlington Heights libray.

I love helping students to achieve, succeed, and gain confidence in the school setting. Often, this confidence extends into other areas of life and it is my pleasure to help this change occur. Frequently asked questions

I begin by meeting with the student and a parent to create a needs assessment and a plan for goals.  We work together as a team to plan out a workable schedule that fits around busy student schedules to create opportunities for growth and achievement.

Typcially, sessions take place in the quiet setting of private rooms at the Arlington Heights library.  These rooms are free from distractions and help students to focus and complete enrichment activities most successfully.

I have a degree in English and secondary education as well as a Master's degree in Special Education.  I am also certified in Language Arts and Speech.  In addition, I am a certified Seeing My Time instructor which helps with executive functioning skills such as time management, meeting deadlines, organizing "stuff", and more.

Lessons are $60 per hour.

I started teaching right after college! I worked in district 214 so I am familiar with many of their programs and writing strategies.

I have worked with students from grades 6 to college.  I have worked with those with IEPs, 504 plans, and those who are generally over-achievers at the top of their class. All have unique needs and areas where they needed supports.
