I have a Bachelor's from Northern Illinois University in Early Childhood Education with a Type 04 Certificate. I also received my Master's in Reading at Concordia University and hold a Type 10; Reading Specialist Certificate. This is my 12th year as an educator in a south suburban school district. I taught 1st grade for 6 years and I am currently a full-time Literacy Coach for K - 5th grade.
My passion is in Early Literacy. I feel this is one of the most important stages within a child's education and there should be a solid foundation in their early years. I am willing to provide the support & consistency to your child to help improve your child's reading needs.
It’s very fulfilling when I’m able to witness my students growth. What’s even more amazing is when their comfort level increases and their confidence in reading shows!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I will assess the student's reading level and abilities in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension to find specific needs and goals.
