English Tutoring
About
I am fairly new to teaching, but that does not mean I lack in experiences. I have taught such a wide range of students, grades, and subjects. I also recently was back in school for education where I got training in the most updated best practices for student learning.
I love getting to help students one-on-one. I think the best learning happens when students can make personal connections to what their learning, and I really enjoy helping students get there. My favorite part about teaching though is what I learn from my students!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When first meeting a student, I take the time to get to know them, what their goals are, and what they want to get out of our tutoring sessions. This way I can start planning our future tutoring session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher for English Language Arts grades 5-12, English as a Second Language grades K-12, and French 5-12. I recently was a full-time French teacher at an elementary school in Chicago. I have also taught English in France and have had a wide variety of teaching experiences during my training.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing depends on the amount of preparation is required for the lesson. It ranges from $15/hr to $22/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when I decided to move to France to teach English! At first, I was more excited to get to live in France, but as I started lessons with the students I realized how much I enjoyed teaching itself.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and from many different settings. I have taught as young as kindergarten all the way up to recent high school graduates starting their associates degree. I have taught in small rural schools, large city schools.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Before talking to teachers about their needs students should think about what their goals are. It is helpful if they can narrow down a specific area they want help on. Instead of saying I want help in English, think about do you struggle with writing essays? If you struggle with writing, what is it about writing? Do you need help organizing your thoughts? Do you need help writing a thesis? Maybe you need help with more than one skill. The more specific you can be the better!
