What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Strive to understand their approach to learning. Are they hands on, auditory, or visual. Also, it is critical to understand how long ago they may have completed prequisite coursework and whether a review is important.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an MBA in Finance from Purdue University as well as 25 plus years of professional experience in Corporate Finance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For advanced undergraduate and any graduate work my minimum rate is $30 per hour. All other rates are negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
It was a second career for me. I have taught and tutored in urban and suburban school systems and find this field extremely rewarding. Education is critical to success!

High school, undergraduate and graduate in every socioeconomic category.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently helped a young man earn his GED which enabled him to obtain employment with a local auto manufacturer and an additional $5 per hour!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure that they have both the academic credentials and the communication skills necessary to explain complex material to those not familiar with that material.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How do they learn, what are their goals in the subject at hand and how much time do they feel is required to obtain their desired level of mastery in the subject.
