Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first priority is learning the academic concerns held by each student, and then to understand the student's best learning style. This way I can adapt my teaching methods so that concepts become digestible and intuitive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a high EQ, which allows me to provide a multiplicity of teaching styles to best fit the student's need. In addition to my Economics, B.S. and Marketing, B.A., my previous career centered about Market Resesarch, which requires heavy statistical knowledge and business acumen. I am now a graduate student at the Harris School of Public Policy, using data and economic theory to transform our current political climate.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is a flat $25 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching while in undergrad to students at continuation schools in Los Angeles. There were students whose outside-school life inhibited their ability and desire to learn in class. We created unique and creative courses and teaching approaches to mitigate the challenges they experienced.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly, I have worked with students from under represented neigborhoods. However, I led a number of trainings for work collegues that allowed me to use different teaching methods.
