New Attitude Tutoring

Ms. Porsha Pilate has a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is currently a M.D Candidate at the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Chicago. While at UIUC, Ms. Pilate was a tutor at a local boys and girls club, where she made a profound impact on not only students’ performance in school, but on their attitude towards learning. With such success, as a Resident Assistant she began to hold study sessions for her residents to teach study strategies and skills to manage the college workload. She believes the key to academic success is having the proper tools (attitude, study strategies, goal setting, etc.) to build a knowledge base. Over the course of Ms. Pilate’s educational journey, she has developed a passion for learning and is looking forward to sharing that passion with students.
