About
Hello! I am a junior at the University of Illinois, studying Media and Journalism. I have a strong background in teaching Language Arts to students from 2nd to 10th grade. I have worked individually with students at a local elementary school for two years, helping them with reading and grammar. I have successfully passed both the AP Language and AP Literature exams with a score of 4 out of 5. I am passionate about reading and language learning, and I am currently working as a creative director at the Daily Illini. My job involves writing video journalism scripts in AP style, producing videos, and sharing them with the audience for news.
I use the Socratic method to guide children in problem-solving, decoding, and critical thinking. As a tutor, my primary aim is to help my students understand various cultures, which will help them develop a holistic and open-minded approach to learning how to read and write. I am immersed in world culture and diverse forms of literature that derive from different countries. I am currently in my second year of studying Italian, and I have previously lived in Italy for three years during my teenage years. Additionally, I have also lived in Korea.
I believe that literature is a beautiful way to communicate. As a language arts tutor, I feel privileged to teach students how to comprehend and express their emotions through writing.
I currently live in Germany, but I will be back in the states by mid-March, so until then, you can contact me through email: [email protected] and direct messages through my account
