About
Hi! My name is Mrs. Wright. I have seventeen years of teaching experience. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education (K-9) and a Master's Degree in Education (curriculum and instruction), as well. I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English Language Arts, social studies, and am a reading specialist. I hold endorsements in English and social science. My areas of specialty are literacy (fiction and non-fiction, all genres of literature, phonics and phonemic awareness, fluency and prosody, inferential and literal comprehension. all three major modes of writing, grammar, punctuation, public speaking, conventions, spelling, and world, ancient, and U.S. history. I have worked with students needing reading and writing interventions in order to make growth to meet grade level expectations and students needing a more enriching and challenging curriculum. I am enthusiastic, child focused, and eager to help students continue to develop a life long love of learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I need to get to know what the area of need is for the student. After that, I would like to administer a few simple assessments in order to determine what specific learning goals we should set, and what the best strategies are to meet those goals.

Seventeen years of education experience. B.A, M. Ed., and current teaching certificate with endoresements in social science and English.
