Frequently asked questions

First and foremost, I want to get to know the student on a personal level. If there is no trust, there is no learning. I also like to work with the student to set measurable goals, and to find a learning style that works for each individual.

I have the following degrees:

BA - History - DePaul

MEd - Social Sciences - DePaul

LBS1 Certification

I charge $150 per hour, but I am flexible for those who need financial assistance.

I have worked with a variety of students. My work in Special Education has given me experience working with students with learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and physical disabilities. My work as Model U.N. advisor has given me experience working with students who take a number of AP and honors-level courses. Sometimes there is overlap among these two diverse groups.

The Model U.N. team that I sponsor recently went to Washington D.C. to compete at the national level. We finished 8th place overall, but more important than that recognition was getting to spend a great weekend with my students in the nation's capital. It was a great bonding and learning experience for everyone!

You might have to try out a few different teachers and teaching styles before you find one that works well with you. Don't be afraid of trial-and-error. Ultimately, you need to find what works best for you!
