Hello! My name is Kathryn Kosner, and I am offering my services to tutor students in Language Arts, Reading, and Math virtually this summer. I graduated from Indiana University in 2019, and I am currently completing my second year teaching as a 6th grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher. I am certified to teach English Language Arts and Reading to 5th - 12th graders, and I have tutoring experience in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math and Language Arts/Reading. I know first hand how difficult this unprecedented school year has been, and I am here to help! I can create a custom intervention plan for your child to fill in gaps this abnormal school year has created in English Language Arts, Reading, and Math, or I can help with summer packets/summer work. I am very pasionate about helping students learn. I absolutely love being a teacher, and I have a great time tutoring during the summer. There is no better feeling than watching a child struggling in a subject finally get it. I have been tutoring for 3 years and teaching for 2, and I know I have chosen the right career for me!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the type of tutoring wanted, I would assess the student in Reading and Math. Based on the results of the assessment, I will put together a comprehensive plan to fill in gaps the student has in their learning.
Each student has their own Google Classroom page where their work will be posted each time we meet. We will meet via Google Meet. The link can be found in the students Google Meet banner.

$50 an hour with material the student has brought from school.
$60 an hour if I will be creating the material for the student.
