College Grad Tutor! Specializing In Science And English
About
I have recently graduated from the University of Southern California where I majored in Environmental Studies. I benefit from having recently been a student and continuing to have exposure to science and English content while also having years of experience as a tutor. I have spent three years tutoring students in math and English as well as classroom experience teaching geology and environmental lessons to second grade and fifth-grade classrooms.

I love looking at my students' faces and being able to see the hypothetical lightbulb go on when an explanation clicked for them to understand a new concept. It is very rewarding working with students who are willing to put in the energy and I will try every explanation or brainstorm activity I can to get them to that lightbulb moment.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to first observe a new student going through their work and have them think out loud while completing their work to look for problem areas or where to target our work. From there, my plan depends based on the school subject and the student's needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have experience from college tutoring students as well as classroom teaching. I worked for a service-learning project in college where I went into classrooms to teach. Additionally, I taught college students how to teach, graded their essay assignments and provided feedback. In high school, I did a teacher developmental program for a semester where I developed lesson plans and worked with students as a class and individually.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
This typically depends on the services required and grade level.
How did you get started teaching?
I have had an interest in teaching since high school and teaching has become a true passion of mine throughout college.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of students from kindergarten students up to college students.
