About
I have 5+ years tutoring Orton-Gillingham programs in a one-on-one setting. I started into this line of work when my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, dysnomia and dysgraphia 7 years ago. So I know how frustrating this can be from a mom's perspective and how much you just want that silver bullet solution for them. Well, if you don't already know by now, Orton-Gillingham programs are that silver bullet. I specialize in creating strong relationships with my students that highlight their personal strengths. I love getting to know my students on a personal level and use their interests to direct our reading choices. My students not only improve their reading skills, they learn to love reading!
I love connecting with my students and finding out what makes them excited about life and incorporating that into our lessons. I find dyslexic students especially tend to have some passionate interests and I love encouraging that! Be it Anime, Spiderman, Pokemon, soccer, or unicorns I will find games, stories and words in their beloved subject to get them really fired up about learning and reading!
