Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. Learn more about the student.
I want to get to know you! Tell me what you love about summer. Tell me what you like to do on the weekends. Tell me what you hate about school. I believe that understanding your habits, both in and out of the classroom, will help me to know what ways I can best support you as an individual.
2. Understand the student's strengths and weaknesses in the subject area and when it comes to school overall
This will help me to structure our sessions in a way that works best for you.
3. Observe how work is currently done
No pressure, but I need to know how you work as a student. This will help me to understand how you learn and how I can teach you in the best way.
4. Suggest an improved method and help the student to implement these techniques!
No student is the same, therefore no lesson plan will be the same! I'm also aware that life happens and things change. We'll work through those obstacles together!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I went for a sunrise hike the other day and the view was breathtaking.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone that will tailor your sessions in a way that will be most effective for you! No student is the same, and you should find a tutor who is willing to work with you to find the best system.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. How will the tutor work to support my needs?
2. What do I expect from the tutor?
3. What results can I expect to see?
