Tammie Boston

I attended Georgia State University and worked over 10 years as a educational counselor at the Eastman Youth Detention Center. I not only scheduled classes, but also prepared kids for release. Initially, I thought of this position as a job. However, it later to turned out to not only change those kids lives, but mine as well. I worked closely with teachers and the students to enroll them in classes not only based on their capabilities, but also worked with them to also complete vocational classes as well. While in this program, I took seriously getting them job placement, further education, and coordinated with schools, jobs, and other agencies to prepare the kids to become law abiding citizens.
