Leona The Tutoress
About
Hey, y'all! I am a remote work professional with a BA in International Affairs and a Minor in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University. I love tutoring English because I'm a book nerd that always liked reading and writing. They go hand in hand. I am also a very social people person that also vibes with introverts— it's a gift. My approach is to approach everything with curiosity and happily view mistakes as opportunities to learn.
I excelled in debate and Model United Nations throughout my education, serving as Team Captain and consistently winning committee awards for writing papers and speeches. In addition to Model UN, I participated in United Arab League and Model African Union both as a student delegate and a chair leading committees. I also tutored student athletes in writing and political science and taught weekly research sessions for Model UN teammates.
My college experience culminated with an internship at The Carter Center in Atlanta for the China Program, where I wrote and published weekly articles and worked with interns to translate articles from Chinese to English. While I am only fluent in English, I've worked with a variety of ESL students and peers at university and work to grammar check and ensure accurate translation. My goal as a tutoress is to support lifelong learning at any age or stage.
