Riverwood Tutoring Services
About
I'm a high school student with a strong academic record — including membership in the Riverwood Honor Society and Beta Club, and three-time recognition on the Principal's List — currently pursuing my IB Diploma with coursework in Mathematics: Applications and Interpretations. I've been in honors math since elementary school, and I bring that same depth to reading, writing, and test prep tutoring. What I love most about tutoring is the moment a concept finally clicks for a student — I remember exactly what it's like to be confused by something new, so I never rush a student or make them feel behind. My approach is personalized: I start by figuring out where a student's understanding breaks down, then work through it together using explanations, examples, and practice tailored to how they learn best. Beyond academics, I've built years of experience in patience, communication, and leadership — founding and running a 145-member community service organization, mentoring students through Best Buddies, and supervising campers as a Counselor-in-Training for over 250 hours. As a current IB student navigating college applications myself, I can also offer real, up-to-date guidance for college admissions counseling. Students and parents can count on me to show up prepared, communicate clearly, and genuinely invest in each student's progress, not just their next test score.
