My business stands out because I use real life experiences to teach. I focus on what learners need most; learning how to communicate effectively in a Spanish speaking environment. The focus is also to make it fun, hence the use of Arcade (as in gaming arcade) in the title of my business.
Moreover, I have over 5 years experience in teaching Spanish. I have also lived in the Spanish speaking environment which makes me more equipped to relate real experiences to my students. I am a teacher by profession who earned a B. Ed in Foreign Language education (Spanish and French). I also hold a Master of Arts Degree in Translation Studies (Spanish/French to English).

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The typical process is to get to know my students on a personal level; identify their likes, dislikes and their personality in general. Then I analyse their level of mastery of the foreign language by giving them a pre-test. Then I take it from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Spanish and French teacher. I have been for the past 8 years. I also have a Masters degree in Translation which has deepened my understanding of foreign languages
How did you get started teaching?
It had always been a dream of mine to become a teacher, ever since I was about 9 years old. Then I went straight into teachers' college out of high school and never looked back.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school level students, ranging from basic to advanced level of understanding of a foreign language
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am fond of is my visit to the Statue of Liberty in New York. I love learning about aspects of culture and believe that every experience is a teacher.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise students to seek out someone who will challenge them because true growth comes from these challenges.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should always have a goal in mind and make sure that these questions will help them to achieve this goal. For example:
