I love it when a student learns how to awaken the great writer within them.

I am nearing the completion date in obtaining my BA in Psychology with a concentration in addictions, so I have added psychology as an area I may be able to offer help in. I am not a licensed therapist, nor am I a certified instructor in this area. However, I may be able to offer some assistance with general study questions in this area as well as to just provide a listening ear.     I let them show me what they already know and then offer suggestions to help their writing sound better. I will proofread their writing when they are done for grammar and spelling.

    I majored in English and Journalism in college before switching to Psychology so I have had lots of practice and education in writing correctly. I also write poetry, song lyrics, and personal essays for fun.

    I do not have a standard pricing system. Tell me what you are needing and if you have any financial issues that may impact your ability to pay and we will work out a price that works for both of us.
    I never called myself a teacher, not just because i do not have a teaching degree. What I seek to do is work with someone to help them learn to utilize the tools they already possess. It is more of a collaboration. Writing is very much about being confident that what you are saying is worth being read and less about if the grammar or spelling is correct. I will proofread and correct these things, but my goal is to show you how writing itself can help you learn about yourself.
    I have tutored high school students in the subjects of reading and writing. I mostly work with people who come to me who are looking for assistance and we work together to reach your goals.
    Students should take some time to understand their goals for wanting to become better at the given subject. If a student simply wants to be able to write a paper that is grammatically correct and free of errors, they should let the teacher know this. However, since my goal is to not only help someone with these things, but also to realize their potential to write for self-discovery, that is how I would approach working with someone. I realize not every student is looking for this, so it is important to vocalize that so I would understand where to place my focus.
