About

I get really excited about languages. I love the feel of noticing when my students or I understand something where we had no idea what it meant before! Language is beautiful because it's both simple and complex at the same time, but it can be easy or hard depending on the path you choose.

I believe I've found the easiest way to learn a language because I tailor my lessons to be similar to how we learned our first language as a child. My process allows for much repetition in a short amount of time and this allows students to retain more. I also use a many-pronged approach that ensures students can begin to understand audio and text without even thinking, as we do with our first language.

I love learning in general! Languages are my passion and where most of my expertise lies, but I can also help with history and science or anything requiring rote memorization.

Frequently asked questions

If a student wants help passing a class:

Before our first session I would ask for any materials such as past tests, homework, vocab lists, etc that they are currently working on so I can get a grasp on where they are at and what the teacher typically looks for. We can review together what is giving them issues in class. In the second part we will do flashcard review intermingled with immersion to help their listening and reading comprehension.

If a student wishes to become fluent, we will do a more in depth immersive experience outside of our sessions. We will also delve more deeply into grammar as well.

I helped a few family members with classes and they enjoyed the process and not having to do a lot of regular studying on top of it. After that I helped out numerous friends and their families with their language studies. Using my method you will be able to remember more while spending less time studying

I've worked mostly with teenagers and adults so far.

Try to have as good of an idea where you are struggling. A great tutor will be able to figure this out if you have no idea, but it would help speed up the learning process with more information.

What part is easy for me in this language? Is it past/present/future tense? Is it conjugation? Maybe word order? I know that the subjunctive always gave me trouble in the past.

Also which of those same are hard to understand?
