About
I focus on the particular needs of my students as individuals.
It puts me over the moon to help a student 'get it'! There is nothing in the world like being able to teach someone what they need to know, in a way that they can understand.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to determine the student’s proficiciency in the subject or skill for which they are seeking improvement. I also like to make the student comfortable, to the best of my ability. It is important that the student feels supported!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied psychology and music at Emory University, and have extensive teaching, writing, and editing experience. I carry Montessori certification, and am trained in Orton-Gillingham. I have worked with students of all ages, and of varying ability. I routinely work with dyslexic students, and with students on the spectrum. Students with ADD/ADHD have frequently experienced meaningful learning under my tutelage.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My typical rate is $30/hour. I will consider a reduced rate when purchased as a package.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been a natural teacher all my life - it is truly my calling, an inescapable vocation. I finally began to teach professionally as a classroom teacher once my youngest child was four.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Montessori students aged 3-12. I have taught music and directed choruses with children aged 3-12. I have worked with private vocal students aged 12-19. I have worked with ESL students, German students, students on the spectrum, gifted students, ADD/ADHD students, shy students, confident students, reluctant students, and more. I have tutored students ages 4-20 online, via Zoom. Each person is an individual, and none is defined by these descriptive terms I’ve used.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have enjoyed the extreme pleasure of preparing reluctant readers/reluctant public speakers for independent research presentations. There is nothing like watching someone develop confidence, and be comfortable in their knowledge.
