Cal’s Tutoring Services
About
When I was in middle school I started tutoring those in lower grades and even those in my class in math and from there my passion grew. From across all ages I want to prepare, progress, and encourgae others to be confident in their abilities.
I love to see that A-Ha moment! When something finally clicks and a student understands how to solve the problem

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with where they are comfortable and then see where they start to feel less confident and we build a game plan about how to tackle those more challenging problems. I want them to understand the why and make it less about memorizing a formula so that they can critically work through future problems
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in biomedical engineering with a minor in business and subsequently have taken 4 semesters of high level calculus, as well as 4 different math levels in highschool. I love math
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I go by the hour, but can work with a bulk pricing model if that is what is needed
How did you get started teaching?
I started volunteering with students when I was still a student and just kept going from there
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary all the way through college.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that can explain something in your language. We all are wired differently. I personally struggled with ADHD and so my learning style was very different from my siblings. Find someone who can challenge you, and will help you grow in confidence.
