About
I truly enjoy helping students learn how to solve math problems. Seeing the joy on their face when they grasp something that they may have struggled with before is truly inspiring, and I hope to help more students get the missing piece they need to understand and solve any math problem. I've taken and excelled in all math classes all the way up to Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. I've received an outstanding student awards in my Honors Algebra II and Honors Precalculus course in high school. I also received a score of 5/5 on my AP Calculus BC course which allowed me to get a head start in college with the third level of calculus. I'm also on track to complete my math minor by about 2 courses. I would love to help your child!
I currently tutor a rising 6th grader every day for about 2 hours. I had a special connection with her because we attended the same school, so it has been very interesting to have a blast from the past and now teaching out ofo the same curriculum I once learned. I enjoy getting to know students and their unique learning styles!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We would start out by introducing ourselves to each other and learning each other's interests. I like to know a little bit about my students to help encourage and motivate them when they need an extra push. We will then review any homework assignments either from school or that I assign. We will then begin learning the next lesson along with practice problems. I then assign a few problems for homework so that the student can get some extra practice with the new lesson(s).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I previously worked at a Mathnasium, Germantown, in Memphis, TN where I saw about 4-5 students at a time. I chekced them in and assigned them a few pages from the Mathnasium curriculum. I then checked those pages as they began to work on their homework. I assisted each student with any questions that they had. I also tutor a rising 6th grader every day in all school subjects ranging from literature to english along with science and social studies. I would love to spread my knowledge and help your student with thier assignments!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons range from about $15-20 per hour. Elementary and middle school students are on the lower end of that spectrum whereas high school and college students are more on the upper end of the spectrum due to the increasing difficulty and time used to teach and solve problems.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should try to see where the problem is coming from first whether it's a lack of understanding altogether or an application issue or a motivation. Students should also think of ways that they learn the best. Luckily with private tutoring, tutors can cater to each student's needs in ways that a teacher of about 20+ students may be unable to.
