About
I am a college student at Georgia State University thats pursuing Optomitry. I prioritize the child first over the completion of the task. Understanding the material is a greater accomplishment than cramming the information for one exam. Math and other subjects carry on through out our lives. I tutor my own sixth grade brother in his studies, from the simplest reminders to the teacher made questoins, he approaches each assignments with dedicate decisions. It is my own goal to enrich the child's grades and learn at a proficent manner.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I will make sure the student finished any/all of the assignments for that day. That work indicates me that they might not have motivation for that class or it is simply hard. Then I will personally ask which class they seem to be struggling in and I will ask for their class syllabus. The syllabus was a school made plan for the students to learn and it is th structuer of the class. I will come up with different questions of that subject, from vocabulary to short free response questions. There will be no trick questions or anything that I didn't review. I will do this process over and over until I see them with a strong foothold. I will be attentive with their school asignents and anything they want help on. I will let the parents/gaurdian and child know a head of time what I will tutor and expect.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a student teacher in my Sunday school. I help each student retain the information as well motivate them to look forward in the next year. I've worked with excell students and special needs and I remain flexable as possible with the student. Flexible as in progress and scheduling. I mentioned before that I tutor with my brother and I helped with minor adjustments in his schooling.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I work on a 10$ per hour session and if they still need after hour or out of tutoring help I charge a 5$ fee. That does not go hourly but I can leave when other priorties take place. I will leave my personal information to the parent and child incase there are questions and concerns, depending how big the concern maybe there wouldn't be any charge. Of course prices are negotiable, but I will try my best to find a middle ground for me and the child.
How did you get started teaching?
I started at my Sunday school before I became a student teacher. The way I grew up around different people and their passions helped me realize that I should branch out to different people. I can grow as a person and expand my work experience.
What types of students have you worked with?
I mentioned before, I've worked with gifted children to special needs. Each child have their own take for their education. I look after them and treat my students how I would be treated. I do not judge how their grades stands, I am looking for progress and results. As well as the child with first priority.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Its only a big deal of you make it a big deal. Do the best you can and leave the rest to me.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Remember that teachers are people and ask how their doing. It makes a world of difference. In general, students should ask what their intentions of tutoring are.
