Frequently asked questions

I offer the first session complementary to get to know your student and their needs. During the first and second session, I will assess your child in the areas for tutoring to determine their needs to develop a plan customized for your child to reach their goals. I meet with parents, preferably before I start tutoring, to discuss your concerns and goals for your child.

I have a bachelors degree in early childhood education from the State University of West Georgia in Carrollton,  Georgia. I am originally from Douglas County and taught in Carroll county schools before relocating to Gwinnett. I also taught virtually for grades kindergarten through fifth for the Georgia Cyber Academy virtually for 5 years. I have lived in Duluth and Lawrenceville  for the last 10 years and have taught  for Gwinnett county schools for seven of those years.

I currently teach special education in Gwinnett county. I have worked with students, ages 3 to 22. I also have  additional studies toward a reading endorsement. I have additional training with special education, as well as reading.

$40 For grades pre-K to fifth grade

I offer the first session free  to get to know your student. I will assess their needs in the areas of need/acceleration during the first and second session to develop a customized plan of learning for your child to be successful. I also like to meet with you  as the parent to discuss your concerns and goals for your child prior to the first session.

I have worked with students ages 3 to 22. I've worked with students in general education, as well as students in special education.

When I taught virtually, I had a student that would get up from the computer and cry when I asked her to read. We later found out that she had reading difficulties and I made a plan that helped her feel successful and meet grade level expectations.

I would suggest to the student, as well as the parent,   to select a teacher that you feel comfortable with and that will help you meet your learning goals.

I would suggest to the child and parent that they know the area that they would like help in. Also, to know what schedule works best for them according to the day and time per week. I would also suggest to determine which time and day your child learns best. For example, my son has ADHD and does better with tutoring before 7 PM.
