I posses many years of teaching experience - especially as a reading and literacy specialist. I have a B. A. In education and a Masters Degree in Reading instruction k-12. I also have a Specialist Degree( Ed. S) I love to teach and see students improve . I make sure my students have read the best literature-acquire vocabulary( with a researched method). teach grammar and writing( essays) with immediate feedback.
I also teach stud skills - necessary for improved learning. I love to teach!!!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first like to assess the student's present academic status. From there, I have a good idea of how to set up a personal program for the student. From time to time, I will reasses the student's work to determine progress .
Building a positive rapport with the student is also essential.Building self- esteem is a necessary component of successful teaching.
i always look forward to watching the student make progress and become happy with their accomplishments.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A.,M.A. in Reading instruction K-12 and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I have many years of professional teaching experience in all 3 levels of elementary, middle and high school experience.
I pride myself in "teaching" and interacting with students probing their thinking abilities at every step of the learning process.
Learning should always be about thinking!!
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because I knew I had the ability to break information down to a reasonable student learning level. I love helping students achieve success and enjoy watching their progress. Very rewarding!
What types of students have you worked with?
Throughout the years, I have worked with elementary, middle school and high school students. I have also worked with adults wanting to improve their English language skills. Some of my students have been advanced and wanted to exceed the regular school curriculum and theta have been struggling readers and writers.
