Ms. Shawnte Fripp have worked as an assistant teacher since 2008 in the Intellectual Disabilities (ID) department at Alpharetta High School. During those years we had a very large department, and she was appointed to be our lead paraprofessional. At one point there were nearly 25 paraprofessionals, who She assisted in supporting and leading. Two of those years She worked as a categorical paraprofessional within my classroom. Both of those years She supported students with significant educational and medical needs. In addition to having a categorical paraprofessional position, She also acted as a job coach to students on campus and when they traveled to off campus job sites, too. Being the lead paraprofessional, when the teacher was absent or unable to be within the classroom, She would step in and continue with the planned schedule and lesson plans. She developed a great rapport with the students She worked with. She Is someone who is patient, hard working and dependable. I know She would make an excellent employee. What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First I assess what the student is having difficulty in . I make sure to include praise along the way. I implore creativity into my lessons and to make sure to be aware of when a student needs a break. I use Skype or Zoom for my sessions. A combination of communicative languages training (CLT) and content-based instruction (CBI). Use materials based on authentic videos, news articles, and real-life situations.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$25 for a 40 minute session. $35 for 60 min session. Willing to work with the same student. Available in the afternoon from 1pm-7pm Monday's, Wednesday's, Fridays. 1pm-6pm Tuesday's and Thursday's. Saturday 1pm-3pm

How did you get started teaching?

I became a preschool teacher and pre-K teaching assistant for total of 8 years. Took more trainings and continued my knowledge of the education field. Presently working with highschool and special ed students for 12 years

Make sure you find someone dedicated and passionate about their work. Is open to suggestions and is able to discern your needs for instruction.
