Shane Kuykendall is a chemical educator with 27 years of Chemistry and AP Chemistry teaching experience. He is currently serving as an AP Chemistry Question Leader (14 year tenure) and has served on the Test Development Committee for the College Board. He enjoys leading district-wide professional development opportunities for educators wanting to improve their chemistry programs with special emphasis on scientific and engineering practices with cross cutting concepts to maximize student learning potential. In addition to his work within the high school and district, Professor Kuykendall offers University level instruction at the University of West Georgia. Serving as an adjunct, Professor Kuykendall has provided instruction in technology, chemistry and instructional methods. Currently, Professor Kuykendall provides teacher training as a certified PASCO consultant with extensive knowledge on both software and hardware. He has provided rich and interactive training nationally and continues to be a valuable asset to teachers nation-wide. Professor Kuykendall contributes to a monthly blog where he provides insights for instruction and steps for success.

    Mr. Kuykendall is highly qualified and personable. This was not only evident during our initial conversation, when I was describing my son’s needs and my expectations, it was 100% confirmed upon the completion of our first tutoring session. First, I was so impressed with Mr. Kuykendall’s flexibility with accommodating my son’s school and athletic schedule. He offered times and options that were beyond the traditional work days/hours. I felt that he truly cared and was going to make sure he was available to meet with my son. Second, his knowledge of the subject coupled with his friendly personality captured my son’s interest in the subject from the first session. Mr. Kuykendall has my son engaged and confident by the end of the first session. With just the first session, my son scored 30 points higher on his retest! And yes, this time he passed! Proof is definitely in the pudding!
