Retired Gifted ELA Middle School Teacher

I’m a retired middle school English Language Arts teacher. I had a blast with my 6th, 7th and 8th graders, and treated them like my own. I developed a bonding rapport with my students that made my job amazing! It was from the genuine bonds we made that my kids wanted to learn and wanted to perform well.

I have over 25 years of experience with all types of learners at all levels. I had many collab classes over the years and also taught the gifted classes. I believe in individualizing lessons and monitoring growth accordingly, and for this, my students were grateful.

I was team leader for many years and also served as the gifted lead teacher as well. I served on the school’s SBLT (school building leadership team) each year and kept our focus on growth through positivity. I was blessed to be awarded Teacher of the Year twice throughout my career, which meant a lot.
