I am a caring Orton-Gillingham-trained teacher. I am deeply committed to the success and well-being of students, particularly those with learning differences, such as dyslexia. I am specially trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured, multisensory method for teaching reading, writing, and spelling tailored to individual learning needs.
I also tutor K-5 in all content subjects. I am a veteran educator with 28 years of experience teaching and serving as a child advocate.

Ms. Nicki is nothing short of transformational for children with additional learning needs. She has been working with my daughter, now six years old, who has a speech delay and dyslexia, using an Orton-Gillingham structured literacy approach.
Her sessions are truly incredible—engaging, dynamic, and seamlessly structured. It’s astonishing how much is packed into just 45 minutes, moving systematically through sounds, kinesthetic activities, and hands-on learning with props and manipulatives. My daughter refers to her time with Ms. Nicki as playtime because the sessions are so engaging and fun for her.
Beyond the noticeable improvements in my daughters letters and sounds, I’ve also seen growth in her focus and attention. Ms. Nicki has also been an invaluable resource in helping me better understand my daughters educational needs and how to navigate the specific support she requires. Her deep expertise, combined with her passion for education and unwavering commitment to her students, makes her an exemplary professional.
