I have 9 years of public school teaching that included 5 years of teaching ESOL, English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am an accomplished musician and I have taught preschool music part-time the last 5 years. I have undergraduate degrees in history and music along with a master's degree in educational leadership. My teaching certificate is k-12 music, secondary social studies, English, and an ESOL endorsement.
I am very good with helping children and youth with reading, grammar, and writing. I'm great with social studies too. I'm excellent with people learning English as their second language. I've been a stand-up comic and writer. I've published essays and written content for clients. I also write a blog focused on politics and culture. I'm also a mother to a daughter in the 4th grade. My sense of humor, patience, and creative mind distiguish me from others. It's $40 an hour for tutuoring.

I ask questions first to learn about their school experience. And I want to find out what they want to improve and also get to know them to see what motivates them.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent even was my daughter's 10th birthday party. We had wonderful friends at our house and it was a lovely time.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is kind, patient, experienced, and smart. You want someone that is comfortable to be around and will push students to do their best work.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about their weaknesses and how to be honest about them along with looking at strengths and future goals.
