About

Reading can be easy for some kids and difficult for others. I've decided to work with struggling readers and writers because I want them to feel better about themselves. In many situations, the kids that don't like their reading and language arts classes are the one's that are struggling. They want to do better and ask for help but just not in front of a lot of people.

By helping kids in a both group and private sessions, they are able to release their fears and concerns because its just a small group of us. Plus, their lessons are customized based on their current reading and writing levels, not their grade levels. This helps them to feel more relaxed.

I enjoy making kids smile and feel confident in their academics.

I contract Ms . Byran thought tutors.com and she had great follow up timing. She listened to what we wanted/ needed and she bonded with my grandson well. She gave him opportunity to be hisself without pressure. She has been working with him for about a month
and I have seen him become more confident in his work, Comfortable with his tutor and her ability to work with him. She was experienced on how to help with his IEP status , working towards being his scores up . He has learned Techniques to help with his reading and test taking. He is getting the foundation he was missing . We feel very blessed to have Ms Demitra Bryan as part our education team .

I love that she offers a free reading assessment. The grade level was more in alignment of where I thought my child was.

    Frequently asked questions

I offer free consultation where we get to discuss your child’s strengths and areas of need. If we need to move forward, detailed  reading and writing assessments are conducted so that we can determine the child’s current level of oear ing. This is a HUGE value because the results provides critical information in creating a successful learning path to help close the reading gap.

I've been teaching reading and writing since 2001 with a primary focus in educating students with disablities and general education students with 504 plans, SST (Student Support Team) and RTI (Response to Interventions).

Pricing demends upon which program the child will qualify for. Sessions are offered in reading with phonics interventions, reading comprehension, fundamentals in writing, creative writing, and a customized learning session. Sessions are held in person in Douglasville, GA for 60-90 minutes weekly, and online via an interactive platform. All sessions are interactive using technology and multi-sensory activities within the session, to enhance the learning, an electronic library with fiction and non fiction books, passages, audio books, magazines, videos and podcasts. Students will have their own student accounts to access all of the technology features. The fee also includes my review of the after session activities.

I started working with children with physical disabilities in 1996 at United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) in Roosevelt, NY as a volunteer. Upon the completion of my Bachelors in American Studies degree, I was hired as a full time teacher to the adult population at UCP. Several years later, I moved to Washington, DC and worked with adults with intellectual disabilities at The Art and Drama Therapy Institute. Afterwards, I became an educator at Mamie D. Lee School and eventually earned my Master's in Education at Grand Canyon University. I recently retired from teaching in Georgia public school sector to provide educational services in a smaller venue.

Primarily students with learning disabilities, ADD and ADHD, Autism. Executive Functioning Deficits  and struggling students in the general education curriculum.

Traveling is a passion for me and I often incorporate it withing my lessons. You'll be amazed at how much the students love learning about kids their age from around the world.

I'm also a published author of two books, Escape Discover Rejuvenate, Let Travel Be Your Cure and The Travel Professional All In One Planner. I love reading, writing and being creative.

The advise I would give is to be enthused about learning. The learning activities and technolgy I offer helps my students to be successful in classroom. I love when the students have those Ah-Ha moments and the parents see their grades increase on their progress reports, district assessments, report cards, and state-wide assessments.

    Be honest.
