Hello,

My name is Kamisha Alexander, and I have over eight years of experience supporting elementary and middle school students who struggle with reading. I have taught in both special education and general education settings and specialize in helping students who need targeted, structured reading support to build confidence and close learning gaps.

I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education from Columbus State University, a Reading Endorsement, and I am currently pursuing a Specialist degree in Literacy with a Dyslexia Endorsement through Georgia State University. My background allows me to understand not only how students struggle, but why—and how to address their needs in a way that is effective and encouraging.

I am passionate about helping students become more confident readers while also supporting their social and emotional growth. I believe progress happens when students clearly understand their goals and can see their own improvement over time. I teach students how to track their growth, celebrate small wins, and take ownership of their learning—especially when reading has been frustrating or challenging for them.

Building strong relationships with families is important to me. I value open communication and collaboration so that parents feel informed, supported, and confident in their child’s growth.
