Alison Mazzie Orton Gillingham Tutoring

I absolutely love to teach children how to read and spell! I especially LOVE to teach children who struggle with reading and spelling. I have been tutoring children with dyslexia for over 7 years. I can be quite silly and refer to letters as if they have personalities which, my younger students love. I was trained in the Orton Gillingham methodology which in my opinion, is the way in which all children should learn how to read and spell. It truly is the secret code to reading and spelling. I am IMSLEC certified and am an advocate for children with dyslexia. I love my job and the best part is, when the children I teach realize that my teaching is helping them and they start gaining the confidence that they have lacked. I have had so many memorable times with my students when I realize how much improvement they have made and as a mother of a child that struggled with reading, it brings so much joy to my heart. :)
