About
I am an academic librarian familiar with what it takes to succeed in school at all levels. I have a BA in English, an MS in Information Science, and an MS in Instructional Technology. I have taught kids at all age levels in a variety of subjects, including English literature, Spanish, writing, history, social studies, and research methods for the past 10 years. While I have mostly worked on word of mouth, I have decided to expand. I approach learning like building a house: you have to start with a strong foundation and work your way up.
I enjoy seeing students succeed. Although I am not often on the front lines, a student telling me about their success and my part in it makes the hard work worth the effort. I hope to see you or your student be successful and achieve their goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At the beginning, I need to assess what they already know by talking with them and maybe even a small quiz. Once I know where they are, I can build an individualized plan that works with their school needs. Every student is different and diagnosing the reasons behind their needs is an important part of success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in English, an MS in Information Science, and and an MS in Instructional Technology. I have tutored for 10 years and taught at the college level for 4 years. I am well-versed in theories of learning and best practices for learning.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with college students in my everyday work. This includes teaching classes as well as individualized instruction.
I have tutored all ages, but have most familiarity and success with high school students.
