Harris Math Tutoring
About
Hello! I am a 4th year Computer Science major at Georgia Tech. I have always had a passion for teaching and helping people improve. My main goal is to get to know my students weaknesses and strengths and tailor to them such that I can maximize my students potential. If my student is struggling, I attempt to understand the root cause behind the struggle, and approach improvement from fixing the root cause.
I enjoy seeing people improve at a task and instilling into people the belief that anyone can become great at anything. I don't believe in "math" and "nonmath" people for instance. If someone claims to be a "nonmath" person, there is nothing i'd like more than to show them that the image they have of themselves as a "nonmath" person can be destroyed and they can become brilliant at math if given the right instruction.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, I would like to get to know my student and their current strengths and weaknesses. I think to really understand ones strengths requires a combination of introspection, conversation, and assessment. Thus, I typically like to have conversations with my student about how they percieve their own skillset, then I like to do some work together so that I can see for myself what I think their strengths and weaknesses are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I study Computer Science at Georgia Tech and have been doing so for the past 3 years. Throughout my time, I have taken many math and computer science courses. I was not always good at math, and used to view myself as "not good at math". It wasn't until I gained a passion for math that I started to try and break this image I had of myself. In doing so, I have formed studying and learning methods I believe to work for most if not all people.
