About

♡ Empowering each child or adult student with the knowledge that they are SUPREMELY valued and WORTHY of great instruction is my passion and a continuum of my master-educator mother's legacy. You are making an investment in your child and/or yourself that will go beyond your lifetime.

As twelve (12) of my five star ***** scholar parents have shared on this platform, I stand out because I come to class enthusiastically prepared, with a personalized learning plan designed to help each student (ADHD, DYSLEXIA, DYSGRAPHIA, Struggling readers and writers ESOL, GIFTED, International, Special Needs, on the spectrum, Spelling Bee scholars and/or adults), be successful.

I curate a robust archive of lessons that foster higher order thinking skills (HOTS) - and we also laugh and learn!

♡ My ability to authentically connect with each child/adult by offering strategic multi-sensory engagement and solutions is why my service stands out. I welcome each tutoring session ready to tutor (and many times reteach) students.

♡ All lessons are based upon each scholar's epistemology (way of learning). I also do not accept a student if there is not a harmonious fit. I want each child and parent to feel comfortable (a must!), and if I am not the right educator, I enthusiastically support and encourage that you seek another teacher. Sometimes a disconnect may occur due to cognitive dissonance, or if I am not the visual representation of excellence in which the child or family is accustomed. And guess what? That's okay.

After our introductory session, parents, or my adult students receive a detailed instructional assessment report. Scholars who meet with me regularly receive a weekly snapshot of our work and a monthly report wherein they are able to track their progress and review lessons learned. My instructional report can be shared with in-school teachers, counselors, speech therapists and/or educational psychologists if necessary.

As a globally recognized certified Orton-Gillingham educator, writer and native English speaker from Brooklyn, New York, I offer exclusive multi-sensory instruction. I am particularly adept at motivating pupils traumatized by "Rush-Stuff & Flush" education (trust me, as a child, I was a victim of the "Rush-Stuff * Flush" educational paradigm).

♡ "Lisa is one of the exceptional teachers. She is the whole package."M. Mundth, Parent

♡ “Lisa creates the most dynamic multi-sensory environments. She is that rare combination of integrity, scholarship, creativity and determination."Dr. Hennington, Brooklyn College

♡ "As John Marshall Law School's Director of Admissions & Advancement, Fatimah's energy, dedication and creativity were characteristics that we depended upon greatly—and were never disappointed. She is a natural leader."R.D'Agostino, Esq.CEO

At times I partner with Home/ Independent Schools, and/or online Educational & Media companies in need of superior native-English speaking/bilingual educators and writers in the United States and worldwide.

♡I enjoy being a part of lasting change and development.

I love affirming natural genius by building self-esteem and designing personalized learning plans that mitigate failure and work! l am committed to empowering prose and removing crippling self-doubt.

♡My many mottos are: *I don't waste mind, time or dime,* and this includes yours as well. *EVERY breath we take is a blessing and every moment is a MIRACLE. *We get it wrong and GROW strong. *The GREAT make mistakes.

For these reasons and so many more, it is an HONOR to provide superior, personalized, online multi-sensory instruction to my TEMPORARILY struggling dyslexic readers, non-dyslexic students, ESOL, ADHD, At-Risk, Gifted, Traveling, Local & Global Scholars ages 7 to 97.

Thank you for reading. Miss Lisa Fátimah

My daughter loved working with Miss Lisa. She was excited for her sessions and was eager to participate. I noticed a marked improvement in both her reading comprehension and her eagerness to learn.

Miss Lisa is very professional. She mapped out a plan of action for my son based on her assessment after speaking with me. She is very friendly and my son enjoys working with her. He has made improvements in his writing...........he actually tries to write and do his best. When he doesnt understand he asks questions now. Wonderful instructor.

Lisa is an amazing educator. We worked with Lisa for a year and our son has made extreme progress. Within months of tutoring with Lisa, his vocabulary expanded, comprehension level increased and even his confidence level, with expansion in the areas he was struggling with the ELA subject area. Lisa ensured that our son was engaged in each session and she is extremely flexible. She kept him attentive by making sessions fun but also ensuring that he was also grasping what was presented in the session. Lisa does not limit a student to only areas that need improvement, but she also expands the student knowledge to other areas and levels. I would definitely recommend her tutoring services to any parent that is seeking a compassionate tutor that provides quality services.

Mrs. Lisa was amazing. My daughter enjoyed every second with her. She encouraged my child to be innovative, creative, and proud of the work she does. She showed her that everything she does is special. My child learned plenty of new words and ways to express herself. Mrs. lisa was simply fabulous. She was the perfect addition we needed during the lockdown earlier this year.

    Frequently asked questions

I LISTEN to the TEMPORARY challenges that my new student and her/his family are facing/have faced, and create a personalized, multisensory learning plan that works well with the student's epistemology.

A globally recognized teacher, writer & gifted native English speaker from Brooklyn, New York, USA with Bayou*'cross the river*roots+august years in education, publishing, radio, law & grassroots service, I bring a wealth of substance to local, national and international students and institutions with global brilliance.

As a bilingual, Orton-Gilingham Certified Educator, I worked directly with  our Associate Head of School, Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), School Counselor and Lower and Middle Division directors to create and serve as the Learning Support Team's pioneer (LST) Administrator.

I conducted student observations, suggested testing accommodations, style and quiz modifications, proofread teacher referrals to the LST, offered content , editorial, layout and font suggestions, reviewed psycho-educational evaluations and spoke with psychologists to create a learning plan geared toward each child's epistemology as I worked with them individually and during whole group instruction.

I was recruited to work one-on-one to address the urgent and critical emotional and academic needs of elementary and middle school dyslexic learners requiring greater support due to trauma from standardized educational systems.

I offer seven (7) pricing structure levels to fit every budget. The price is dependent upon the number of one-to-one tailored instruction hours taken. While I know many students are anxious to enroll while I am still accepting students, I HIGHLY recommend attending my Introductory-Tutorial Trial Class. Even if you are a seasoned online school scholar, it is best to take the trial class (for 90 minutes), to determine if you are, and/or your child/teenager is comfortable with my one-to-one curated instructional method. We also want to ensure that my teaching style aligns with your goals, family values and lifestyle. In addition to instruction, our trial class includes comprehension, fluency and writing assessments. My online dedicated and flexible instruction includes: monthly testing, curated learning resources, on-going comprehension and fluency assessments (CRA), detailed monthly progress summary, personalized reading/writing/speaking materials, American Sign Language (ASL), and customized research and planning to address each student's epistemology. Our Non-refundable tuition is paid one (1) week in advance of instruction and may be paid monthly or quarterly (every three (3) months).

After a career in corporate law, law school admissions administration, publishing, broadcast media, and fashion, I followed in the footsteps of my late mother, a master educator, and entered the educational arena. I am a native New Yorker and a bilingual native English speaker who understands the contours of class within communiqué. Having witnessed many young people enter the corporate arena ill prepared, I knew that I had to empower as many students as possible (at all ages and stages), by sharing a legacy of authentic, purposeful instruction that lasts a lifetime. I come from a family of ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary things.

I have had the HONOR to teach AND learn from local, national and international students who are geniuses, 2e, gifted, dyslexic, have tourettes, Turner's syndrome, on the spectrum, at-risk, children of the celebrated, public officials, of all socio-economic levels including HNW and UHNW families in private, independent, public elementary, middle, high school, college and law schools.

A recent event that I am fond of was traveling to "Unicorn Land," with one of my great young scholars.  I teach my younger students (and at times older ones as well) through play, Bloom's taxonomy, and higher order thinking skills (HOTS). During this particular class we used our magical "super powers" to decode sounds and BUILD great stories!

Always trust your instincts.  Determine whether or not you feel comfortable with your teacher.  Does the teacher uplift or create fear?  Does the teacher LISTEN to you and communicate in a way that you understand?  Does this educator value you and your time while also motivating, encouraging and requiring you to be your very best?  How does the teacher make you feel when you make a mistake in class?  Do you feel better leaving the class?

    1. What do I really need from my teacher and tutoring?

    2. Am I committed to investing the time and effort it will take to achieve my goals?

    3. Will tutoring help me to relieve my anxiety?

    4.  What factors can I control in my learning environment?

    5. What has and hasn't worked for me in the past?

    6. How do I learn best and retain new information?

    7.  Is the teacher okay with me tutoring off-camera?

    8.  Am I worthy of investing the time to learn?

    9. Do I know how I learn best?

    10.  What will I do with the information that I've learned.
