Ahmad Belton Chemistry Tutoring
About
Tutoring is a big thing for me because I know students need the one-on-one sessions where they can ask all kinds of questions. I encourage students to ask questions of any kind pertaining to the material.
I focus on the understanding of concepts. With a firm grasp of the concept, students can do any question that is presented to them. I won't do homework problems for studetns but I will guide them and enforce usage of the concept. This way, the student can do questions on their own when the test comes around.
Please note, I don't travel to students at the moment. I can tutor through Zoom or Skype. I may consider college campuses or public libraries.
I tutor chemistry and math. These are two disciplines that cause students to gt very lost in the middle of class. I'm here to help.
There is this intense feeling of satisfaction when a student understands this material. When I was an undergraduate, I didn't have a personal tutor. The material was learned but I want to make everyone else's lives easier and make them understand the material faster.
I have my B.S. in chemistry, and minor in mathematics, from Kennesaw State University (Southern Polytechnic State University), M.S. in chemical engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I am currently working towards my phd in chemistry at Clark Atlanta University.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by focusing on the concepts of chemistry rather than memorizing everything. With an understanding of the concepts, the student will easily do any question that is brought to them.
Once the concepts are understood, I'm more than happy to go through plenty of practice problems with the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry and a minor in mathematics, which helps with the understanding of chemistry concepts. I took various chemistry and math courses as an undergraduate and have a firm grasp on the concepts. After taking advanced chemistry courses, I'm definitely able to tutor students who are struggling.
