Science Tutoring
About
I am a self-employed tutor that specializes in the topics of chemistry and biochemistry. As a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, I understand the impact that the quality of instruction can have on a student's performance. My goal is to help each student reach their full potential by providing a comprehensive learning environment that is tailored to the individual needs of each student.
I have worked at a variety of establishments at both entry level positions and management. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and have experience in tutoring college level courses.
One of the things I enjoy about being a mentor is watching another person progress towards their goals. While I was a student, I acted as both an academic tutor as well as a fitness mentor for students on campus. Being able to contribute to the continued education of others is an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and this is something I hope to demonstrate through my teaching.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would like to speak with the student in order to determine his/her individual goals and the requirements of their course, as well as any challenges with the subject material that the student may posses. From there I will develop a study plan that will focus on the best learning methods and practice problems for each student. I typically follow up with my students each week in order to determine if any changes or additions need to be made to the study plan as the student progresses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an honor graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry. I have tutored other students in college level courses including chemistry, biochemistry, nursing and mathematics.
In addition, I have held hands on medical experience as a medical assistant, as well as management positions at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have tutored biochemistry/chemistry students, nursing students and young adults of all ages.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
As a biochemist, I believe it is important to have an instructor that not only understands the theoretical concepts, but recognizes the value of hands on experience. Being able to see how the knowledge can be applied in everyday life is an essential part to fully comprehending and teaching the material effectively.
