About this tutor

I graduated from an Oregon university with a B.S. in Systems and Structural Biology, but now I am a doctoral student in polymer chemistry at Georgia Tech. This more holistic perspective has been beneficial to my postgraduate studies, and I consider it to be helpful in tutoring students.

I tutored other students at my undergraduate university for several years and also was involved with the local high schools. I graduated with honors and now hold perfect marks thus far from my graduate program.

He was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and the psychology of my son's frustration. He was patient and encouraging.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First and foremost, it's always important to understand the level of knowledge that the student currently has. This saves time and it allows for me to give more appropriate advice.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

B.S. Systems and Structural Biology, 2.5 years of research laboratory experience.

How did you get started teaching?

I begun teaching as a TA in an Organic Chemistry course where I worked with students in small groups. This eventually led me to the more classic one-on-one format that I currently prefer.

What types of students have you worked with?

Middle School through Undergraduate in all of the sciences.
