About
Expertise meets Empathy.
At Athens Prep, all of our tutors hold a master’s in teaching or higher and have at least a year of experience tutoring. We are committed to providing the highest quality tutoring and deeply care about our students’ goals and successes.
Passion meets Science.
We use psychologically proven techniques to ensure that our students are not just hearing the information, but digesting and truly learning it. We practice everything we teach so that nothing falls through the cracks.
Results Guaranteed.
We value your time with us and will use our expertise in teaching and in standardized testing to ensure that every student benefits in both test-taking and study skills that they can apply outside of the SAT. We believe anyone can improve their SAT score because it is not a test of intelligence; it only measures how well you know the SAT. If after eight sessions with us, your student does not score at least 100 points higher (or 2 points on the ACT), we will reimburse everything. We value your time. We value your trust. And we can and will help.
I love watching students experience a moment of clarity, where they transition from feeling overwhelmed to seeing exactly what they need to do in order to succeed on the SAT/ACT. I teach my students psychologically proven study habits that they can use beyond the standardized tests. My work is incredibly rewarding because I help students succeed on tests that are important to their future, I help them gain a sense of control and balance over a stressful situation, and I give them valuable study skills that will continue to benefit them throughout their lives.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every new client I have has a 30-minute consultation with me so that we can discuss where they are now, what they want to achieve, and what the best plan is for their success. I offer 60, 90, and 120 min private lessons and also have some classes. I talk with each student before we get started so that I can make sure that each student has the best plan for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an M.A. in the Art of Teaching from the University of Virginia with a specialty in teaching secondary education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private lessons are $75/lesson.
Group lessons are $35/lesson.
