Personal Tutoring
About
I absolutely love helping students. I am happy to try to help in any way I can and will explain things as much as needed. I love seeing the understanding click into place with students. I also love seeing students achieve their goals, whether that is simply acheiving their grade goals, or understanding a concept.
I am currently a graduate student at Georgia State University in the Astronomy PhD program and have been teaching the Astronomy and Physics labs for four years.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I like to get to know them a bit: what are they interested in, what year are they, what are their plans, what would they like to get out of tutoring? Then I see where they are in terms of their knowledge, what do they understand and where does their knowledge falter. Then I like to dive right in and begin rectifying any knowledge gaps or misunderstandings while working on a homework set or problem they struggled with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In order to teach Astronomy and Physics labs I was required to take a class on the methodologies behind teaching.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by being thrown into labs and figuring it out through trial and error during my first year at GSU.
What types of students have you worked with?
Undergraduate college students
