About
Retired physics professor
I started my career as a Lecturer at B.P. Arts, SMA Science, and K.K.C. Commerce College in India from December 1990 to November 1991 and I joined as Lecturer at Jai Hind College in India from November 1991 to August 1995. Later joined as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor at St. Pius X College in India from August 1995 to June 2014. After that, I worked as the Principal of St. Pius X College in India from July 2014 to May 2018. I obtained my first Bachelor's degree in Physics from Kerala University in India in 1982 and later in 1995 I finished my Master's degree in Physics from Sardar Patel University in India. I received my Ph.D. in Physics from Sardar Patel University in India in 1990. My main research areas are photoelectrochemical Solar cells. I got the Hari Ohm Ashram Prerit Shri Bhaikaka Inter-University Smarak Trust award for the best research paper in Material Science in 1992. I published many research papers in international Journals. Also participated in several national and international seminars. I was a member of the Ph.D. thesis evaluation committee for Physics and Electronics for North Maharashtra University and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in India. I was the examiner for degree-level physics courses for different universities. Also, I got a prestigious distinguished leader in Science award from Venus International Foundation in India in 2018 for my contribution, leadership excellence, and accomplishments. I assumed as a member of the Board of Studies in Electronics at the Kannur University in India for designing the curriculum for Electronics in the undergraduate and graduate-level courses. A very motivated, talented, and qualified Physicist with many years of teaching and research. I have an exceptional track record of teaching degree-level physics students to receive competitive Indian National examinations. I taught classical and quantum mechanics, properties of matter, optics, wave motion, nuclear physics, solid-state physics, electricity, magnetic, Electronics, material science, thermodynamics, and mathematical physics at the degree level. I also taught GCSC and A-level physics students. I normally try to get unique insights into the student’s strengths and weaknesses through an initial assessment. I provide detailed help for assignments and exams, as well as increase the level of confidence of my students. I can assess students’ needs, answer all doubts, and identify weak areas and gaps in the student’s knowledge. I also make sure I keep monitoring the student’s performance to gauge if the student has understood properly. I provide my students with all the necessary resources to meet students diverse needs and integrate worksheets into every lesson to solidify their understanding. I can provide students with tactics to help them improve their performance in exams depending on topics and exam boards. Also, I can enhance lessons through the integration of innovative educational technology. I normally create lesson plans, review worksheets, and practice tests to prepare students for weekly assessments. I can also communicate with parents about students’ progress. I always try to offer a broad perspective of the subject matter that not only helps students to understand their work in a new way, but that motivates them to pursue knowledge and make the subject of physics and maths interesting. I am a tutor that also hones the student’s critical thinking skills so that the student can perform well even outside their comfort zone.
I grew up with a passion for learning Physics and was inspired by my teachers. I love to share my passion for Physics with students as I believe Physics is the foundation for understanding the world around us.
